Pieter joined Wynyard Wood in May 2024.
Prior to his work in New Zealand, Pieter worked as a barrister sole of the High Court of South Africa and before being called to the bar, he worked as a solicitor, conveyancer and partner at a South African firm, offering more than 20 years’ experience in the legal arena. Pieter was also admitted as a lawyer in New South Wales.
Pieter has a wealth of experience particularly in litigation, insurance disputes (having acted for both insurers and insured), employment disputes (including mediations and arbitrations and appearing in the ERA), advocating for survivors of historic sexual abuse (involving faith based and educational institutions), general civil litigation and relationship property matters.
Pieter is fluent in both English and Afrikaans, enabling him to easily communicate and assist a wide demographic of clients.
